If you have been sensing a call at FBA to be more involved in the discipleship of our members, then the Leadership Institute is for you. In the Adult Life Ministry, we are always on the lookout to identify new leaders with strong potential and who desire to be spiritually equipped so that they can equip others.
The Leadership Institute, over the course of six weeks, will introduce you to the leadership goals and objectives of FBA and the Adult Life Ministry. Our training will be primarily based on teaching by Mr. Allan Taylor in a course entitled “Forward From Here.” In addition, we will have in-depth discussions on topics such as the characteristics of a ministry leader, essential leadership skills, active attending skills (listening and responding), personal ministry, and several more. You will have opportunities through a variety of engaging individual and team assignments to practice and demonstrate leadership skills through role play, presentations, and other activities.
Leadership Institute Prerequisites:
- Born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ
- An active member of First Baptist Atlanta for six months or more
- Know and agree with the FBA Statement of Faith (See about FBA on the main web page)
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of key Biblical principles, Scripture, and doctrine
- Commit to attend and fully participate in each session
- Willingness to fulfill one term in a leadership role
